Many thanks to the Rotary Club of Palgrave for organizing the I’m Drinking for Charity virtual event, which took place Thursday, August 27, with close to 100 Caledon residents participating. Palgrave Rotarians delivered baskets filled with Caledon Hills beers, Spirit Tree ciders, and tasty snacks pairings from Garden Foods, Bolton, to each participant’s home.
Later in the evening, participants connected through Zoom to listen to a virtual presentation. Tom Wilson, founder and owner of Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, described the European-style and cellar-aged draught and pear ciders, the unique spices and smells of Spirit Tree products, and the steps in processing the beverages.
Next up, the Riedelsheimer Family, owners of Caledon Hills Brewing Company and the Palgrave Church Pub, spoke about the German-inspired Vienna Lager and Bohemian Pilsner, locally brewed in the Headwaters region of Ontario using fresh Caledon water.
Many thanks to Rotary Club of Palgrave for their partnership on this event, and for their long-standing support of Bethell Hospice Foundation.
