Bethell Hospice Signature Event
Two Hikes for Bethell Hospice were held again this year – Sunday, May 4 in Inglewood and Saturday, May 10 in Bolton. Hundreds of participants gathered pledges and hiked the Caledon Trailway in Inglewood, or Dick’s Dam Park & Boston Mills Park Trail in Bolton. Hikers received a commemorative hike t-shirt, participated in the balloon release ceremony, and filled the memory board with photos and remembrances of friends and family members. The combined proceeds from the two hikes this year was an incredible $103,773!
Many thanks to our platinum level community partners Brampton Brick, Cavalier Transportation Services, Meadowvale Cemetery, Crematorium & Visitation Centre, and Scotiabank. Thanks also to our bronze level sponsors BDO Financial Services, Egan Funeral Home, and Mowbray Wright Financial & IPC Investment Corp.
Hikers at both locations were treated to a barbeque expertly prepared by the Caledon Lions Club and enjoyed delicious desserts courtesy of Spring Meadow Bakery. Hikers also had the chance to have their car washed at the Scott’s Funeral Home, Brampton Chapel car wash at the Inglewood Hike, and to purchase Hearts for Hospice jewellery at both events.
The Inglewood Hike also marked the launch of the Bethell Hospice Foundation Caring for Our Community lottery. Hikers had the first opportunity to purchase tickets on a 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, provided through Fines Lincoln. Ticket sales will continue until September, when the winning ticket will be drawn at the Bolton Fall Fair.
Plan to join us for next year’s Hikes for Bethell Hospice on May 3, 2015 in Inglewood and May 9, 2015 in Bolton.
