Over 700 shoppers attended the first annual Big Garage Sale & Bazaar on April 26 at the home of Bethell Hospice founder, Lorna Bethell. Items for sale included antiques, furniture, artwork, fine china, pottery, collectibles, and personal belongings from Lorna Bethell’s estate, as well as home baking and handmade treasures. The event raised an incredible $42,027 in its first year, thanks to the hard work and dedication of a team of over 120 event volunteers.
Many thanks to our community partners 3Macs, Lafarge Canada, Carleton Cards and Scotiabank. Special thanks also go out to Penny Richardson and The Coalition of Concerned Citizens for all the help and advice in organizing such a huge sale. Thanks also to the Tecumseh Shrine Club for offering a delicious barbeque lunch.
