Home » COVID-19 Updates from Bethell Hospice Foundation
The Foundation continues to reinvent our fundraising plans for 2020 in light of the realities of COVID-19. Some events have been cancelled for 2020, and others postponed until later in the year, assuming that COVID-19 restrictions by the new dates will allow the events to proceed.
Rescheduled 2020 Events
Our Hike for Bethell Hospice has been postponed to September 13, 2020. Our rescheduled event will offer the same experience that has made our hike such a success for many years, but on a beautiful fall day instead of a beautiful spring one. For those who would prefer to support Bethell Hospice without attending an event in person, we will also be offering the option to sign up as a virtual hiker. Participants can choose whichever option works best for them.
Online registration is now open at https://bhf.akaraisin.com/ui/hikeforBH2020, and pledges of support will be gratefully accepted anytime from now through to the hike in September.
The Diamond in the Hills organizers have rescheduled this year’s fashion show to November 22 at The Arlington Estate in Kleinburg. Tickets for this event are sold out, but to add your name to a wait list, please email Judy Petursson at email@example.com.
Events Cancelled for 2020
With regret, this year’s Golf 4 Bethell Hospice event at Hockley Valley Resort has been cancelled. We look forward to welcoming you back to Golf 4 Bethell Hospice in 2021.
Our friends at Glen Eagle Golf Course have advised us that they will be unable to operate the Glen Eagle Charity Classic Golf Tournament for Bethell Hospice in 2020. We look forward to a wonderful tournament in 2021.
The Foundation had planned to have a major Gala Celebration at the Pearson Convention Centre on September 19, 2020 in honour of the tenth anniversary year of Bethell Hospice. Regrettably, this event will be cancelled for 2020, and rescheduled to September 18, 2021.
We will continue to share updates with you as plans evolve. Thank you all for your continued support in this unprecedented time. As you know, fundraising events represent a significant portion of the revenue needed each year to fund the operations of Bethell Hospice, and allow all the programs and services to be available at no cost to residents and their families. Your support will help to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on hospice operations
