Celebrate Light & Love Tree Lighting

Each holiday season, friends of Bethell Hospice are encouraged to donate to our Celebrate Light & Love holiday campaign by illuminating a light of remembrance on our Bethell Hospice trees. All those remembered are honoured and their names read aloud at our beautiful Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event raises over $240,000 annually in support Bethell Hospice Foundation, with hundreds of individuals remembered. Light & Love donations are accepted online each year from October to early January.

At any time of year, you may also choose to make a memorial gift in one of the following ways:

In Lieu of Flowers

A donation to Bethell Hospice in memory of a family member, friend or colleague is a meaningful and lasting way to show your support. Memorial donations may be made online or by calling the Fundraising Office at 905-838-3534. Families will be notified of your gift, and you may also choose to send an eCard directly to the family. All gifts of $20 or more are fully tax receiptable.

Select a Memorial Tree

A limited number of trees already planted on the grounds of Bethell Hospice are available for memorial tributes. This includes trees that line the ‘Road of Remembrance’ driveway area. A tax receipt will be provided to the donor, and a tribute plaque erected near the tree of your choice. Monthly Giving

Many donors choose to divide their yearly giving into twelve equal installments. Monthly donations provide a steady stream of funding at all times of the year, ensuring that all programs and services are continually available at no cost to residents, community clients or their families. Monthly donors also appreciate the option of dividing gifts into twelve equal payments, minimizing impact on cash flow. Monthly gifts may be established in any denomination, may be made by credit card or pre-authorized cheques, and may be designated as a memorial tribute. One consolidated tax receipt for the total donation amount is issued at the beginning of the following calendar year.
